Sweat Parka – Heather Grey 'Trouts' Print
A collaboration between Hokkaido printmaker Futoshi Kitamura and South2 West8.
Kitamura's practice is entirely self taught, outside of traditional frameworks. His work is characterised by a combination of meticulous detail and lightheartedness. For this project, Kitamura used archival print work depicting Hokkaido's native flora and fauna, and created illustrations using iconic South2 West8 motifs such as trout, a popular target for Japanese anglers, the Tenkara fishing rod, and well-known mountains from the region.
Monochrome woodblock printing was used to create the final designs, which incorporate new versions of South2 West8's logotype as interpreted by Kitamura.
Two pullover hoodie styles and three long sleeved t-shirts are available at Nepenthes London.
